This is truly a musical depiction of monumental proportions. The adventure begins with a flourish called "On the Trail." There's ample opportunity to feature soloists; the first solo has a bluesy flavor. The work develops "The Union Pacific" complete with a train whistle and special effects. Next is a serene setting entitled "All the Pretty Little Horses" with a flowing solo and the work concludes with the dynamic section entitled "The Final Stretch on the Union Pacific."
