A beguine for young jazz players. An original by master arranger Paul Cook, Satin Latin develops a Latin groove immediately and uses familiar rhythms throughout. The focus is on style as the technical demands are limited. Parts for maracas and clave are included and utilized in an open section for rhythm players. With basic instruction, any band member can play the maracas and clave parts. A fun piece that requires minimum rehearsal time and delivers great results. A winner! (2:40)
