At some point in history, words were added to this traditional English melody, and what resulted has become one of the greatest hymn tunes in Western literature. James Ployhar has skillfully added an effective countermelody that, along with the tune, moves through the textures of the resulting scoring to create a magnificent musical tribute with soaring and majestic sections contrasting beautifully with more pensive segments.
