Crescent City Collage
Author: Mixon, Kevin

With rich, diverse cultural history, New Orleans is considered to be the cradle for many American music genres. Mixon presents a medley of folk tunes associated with this region and presents them in popular indigenous styles. Though replete with spirited, rhythmical sections that will keep toes tapping, the piece concludes with "Jolie Blonde", a sentimental and nostalgic anthem for Louisiana and this great city.

Performed by the American Festival Philharmonic,
Robert W. Smith, Conductor
